This site is a the focal point for all polyamory related activities in the North West of England. I started this site because nothing else seems to exist for the poly community up here.
Right now, we're working on building up a core of regulars at the meet, and anyone who would like to help out is most welcome to drop me an email (address below).
To the left is a picture of a few of us enjoying a post-meet snack at 'Rice' in Piccadily Gardens.
We hold regular poly meets, where we talk about our relationships, families, jobs and lives. A lot of the time, we also talk about other random things like art, punctuation, a party someone went to, bicycles or whatever else is on our minds at the time.
Sometimes, but not always, we even talk about sex and sexuality, which means our conversations might not be suitable for children to hear. But it's often not the main topic of conversation.
The second Saturday of every month, from approx. 2.30pm to 5.00pm. The next meet is on the 13th of February, 2010.
We usually meet really close to Manchester Piccadilly railway station at Cafe Nero. It's on Station Approach, about 100m from the main station entrance.
We try to meet at the back of the ground floor, if the tables there are free; look out for the picture of a parrot on the table. If it's busy, we might move upstairs instead. Newcomers would be well advised to check upstairs, especially if they arrive later in the day, as we often move upstairs (quieter) after about 3:30pm)
The postcode of the cafe is M60 7LP.
Yes! We're a small group and always make an extra effort to make sure new people feel welcomed and comfortable.
If you think you might be poly then you are welcome to come up to our table, ask “Are you here for the Poly meet?” and have a cup of coffee with us. We'd like that.
You are welcome to just turn up, although we always like it when you say “hi” first too.
You're welcome to come any time from 3pm until 5pm. There's usually at least one of us there by 2.30pm, so we should have the picture of the parrot on the table by then!
There are a number of useful resources here
If you have specific queries about upcoming meets, please send a message to ian@manchesterpoly.org.uk, and we will endeavour to help you.
The best places for ANY poly folk in the UK (NW or otherwise) to be, are the uk-poly mailing list and uk-poly forums. The two sites are unrelated, despite their similar names.
